| The books of Eric Morris Eric Morris developed the most complete system of acting ever created. And, the even more important task, his process of acting really works. He himself worked with Strasberg, but he was not confident with the sayings, that method acting on a high artistic level only works for a chosen few of highly talented actors. He searched for the reasons and developed literally hundreds of exercises, helping actors to create true reality on stage and in front of a camera. He invented a revolutionary new way of method acting, deeply rooted in Stanislawskys and Strasbergs method, but his system became a new great step in developing the art of acting. He got extraordinary results, thrilling results. There is agreat number of Hollywoods first class actors, who found the cornerstone of their art in the process Eric Morris taught them. Jack Nicholson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Melanie Griffith, Harry Dean Stanton, Teri Garr are just a few of his students. I do not know any other book of acting, teaching a functionable approach You can use in the professional work as an actor. I don´t talk of inspiration, the books are full of inspiring moments, but what I mean is, You can indeed learn a process of acting from those books. |

| The first six lessons | |
| Richard Boleslavskys: The First Six Lessons is one of the most inspiring acting books. The book is written in the thirties, but it is still full of insight. Any actor can profit from those lessons. And beside being a standard acting book, it is a really entertaining book. Although it is written in dialogues, it seem to me like a novel. It is a big favorite of my acting books. | |

|
| Educating Rita is a marvellous play about the
Liverpoolian hairdresser Rita, starting an academical carreer and a professor of English
literature, called Frank. The education of Rita will at the same time become the education
of Frank. Special suggestion for actors, directors, or just readers of Educating Rita:
Read some of the books, which have a great impact on the characters of the play. Do a
great background research and have a lot of fun with it! |
